Nannas Kitchen takes Nannas recipes and modernises them for todays home cook.
For this project, I have taken recipes from an old cook book and revised them with consideration of modern technique and taste. This app has become your Nannas cook book, accessible from anywhere, ready at any time.
Recipes have been drawn from The Green and Gold Cookery Book. The book was first published in 1923 by Annie Sharman, as a fundraiser for Kings College in South Australia. Every Grandmother, Mother and child in Adelaide would have memories of this well-thumbed book in the kitchen. My recipes have are from the 75th Anniversary Edition, published in 1999. The book exotic recipes such as Ammonia Biscuits and Fricassee of Sheep’s tongue, as well as tried and true favourites including scones, meringues and shepherd’s pie.
This project has been completed for an assignment for MED104.
